It's a New Day in the Assemblies of God in Africa!
With the church in Africa gearing up to become a missions force in the
world, the leaders of the Assemblies of God realize the church's need for
Pentecostal empowering. They are thus calling for a continent-wide outpouring
of the Spirit. At their meeting in Accra, Ghana, in October the African
Assemblies of God Alliance commissioned the Acts in Africa Initiative
to address this critical need.
What is the Acts in Africa Initiative?
AIA is a ministry aimed at encouraging Pentecostal renewal in the Assemblies
of God in Africa. Its purpose is summed up in its mission statement "Calling
the Church to Spirit-Empowered Mission." Acts in Africa works under
the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance and the Africa Office of the Assemblies
of God World Missions (USA).
How Does the Ministry Work?
AIA strives to implement ways of encouraging the church in Pentecostal
doctrine, experience, and practice, with a focus on completing the Great
Commission of Christ before His soon coming (Matt. 24:14). It works in strategic
partnership with Africa Harvest Ministries, Africa's Hope, and the Africa
Assemblies of God Alliance, representing 45 national churches in Africa
and the Indian Ocean Basin. It also partners with supporting churches and
individuals in America.
